Use of EA with Oracle Backend as Ent Repository?
« on: February 07, 2013, 05:53:29 am »
Looking for a method in Sparx EA to use the Enterprise Architect database as our Enterprise Repository of reusable elements (e.g. Use Cases, Rule Sets, Actors, Components, etc...) that is accessed via  Subversion version control.  The primary issue is that when I try to instantiate a "thing" from the Enterprise Repository for a particular project, it brings the element into the project space with no content and no relationships that were defined up in the Enterprise Repository.  Our desire is to create instances of the things in the Enterprise Repository of elements at the project level, modify those things both in content and relationships (links) at the project level and then promote those changes back to the associated Classifer(s) level so they can be checked back into the Enterprise Repository for the next project effort.

Is there a way to do this with Sparx EA?

Yes,

You can use version control to manage shared model parts in different repositories.
