Activation Levels
« on: May 10, 2013, 01:42:52 am »
Hi
I am drawing a sequence diagram and cannot get the activation levels to be visible
I have drawn a self message for a lifeline followed by a message to another lifeline.
According to the help I should see a raise activation level menu option but I do not

Has anyone any idea why not?

Cheers

Did you try searching the help?

You can get it back by "right-clicking the Sequence diagram, and selecting the Suppress Activations context menu option."

Hi Simon
I did search the help and did find the Suppress Activations option, however, it does not help me.
I am talking about activation levels whereby when a self message is added the activation levels are nested.
Here is what I am talking about -
http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/9.3/standard_uml_models/self_message.html

No matter what I try I cannot get a new activation level to be added  >:(

Is there anything else I can try?

If your message is Asynchronous, try changing it to Synchronous. Does that help?

Hi
Makes no difference.
I thought that it might have to do with some addin or mdg technology that I was using so I uninstalled EA and removed all the registry settings and the re installed.
This has fixed the issue and it remains fixed after I have reinstalled my addins and technologies.
In addition I have just noticed that message lines were being drawn with a plain arrow, but now they are filled.

Dont know what caused this but it is working now

Maggie,

The plain/filled arrows indicate whether or not your message is synchronous or asynchronous.
You probably changed the default setting by accident.
