Synchronizing  objects between MEGA and EA
« on: August 04, 2013, 07:14:09 pm »
Hi,

our company has modelled its

business processes
business objects
business roles / organization

in MEGA ( http://www.mega.com/en/solution/enterprise-architecture ) .

Question: is there any scripts, best practices to import from MEGA  (or Export from EA into MEGA)  some of the mentioned objects ?

Thanks a lot,

Michel

As what I read, MEGA can export XMI. Have you tried that?

I've used mega in the past (2009), and the support for UML and XMI was pretty poor at that time.

And I'm guessing that the business things that have been modelled in Mega aren't really UML things either, so XMI export won't do you any good.

So unless they have improved in that area you are probably better of writing your own export/import tool.

I know it wasn't too difficult to export Mega elements into an Excel file, and I've published an Excel to EA importer so that could be a way to go.
