Buggy forum search...

Why can't I search for my own posts? If I just enter my name (or tick the "search own posts" checkbox)  but don't enter any search term, why does this yield an error message "You must specify a search string!".
Why can't this simply list all my own posts?

Search was rotten all time. At least the speed is now ok. Enter "a" as search string. That should hit most likely.

Not even THAT works! If I enter "a" and user "mmo" (i.e. me) it displays ALL forum entries that contain "a" (i.e. practically all) but completely ignores the user.  

The search condition seems to be an OR instead of an AND (and of course no (apparent) way to change that...).

This is really a candidate for the most useless Search I ever encountered on a webpage!  And you say, it's like this for ages?

You are absolutely right. I thought this worked once (but in the past I did not use search to much since it was way toooooo slooooooow). Now they messed up that too. (The "Mark Read" button does still not work).

Viewing your posts: Click My Center | Posts.

Any forum complaints: This forum isn't developed by Sparx Systems. Personally I have no idea what upgrade/migration options are available. As far as I know, our web developers do not look at the forum. The only purpose that complaining about it here will serve is making you feel better.

They meanwhile have repaired the search (speed) for the price of one or two other bugs in the forum

And still they have the "Search the forum" field as a trap door for innocent new forum users
