Associations as attributes in class diagrams

Is there a way for me to view Associations as Attributes directly in a class in a class diagram?

I could not figure one out

No, you have to choose, use either associations or attributes.

From my point of view both are different renderings of the same thing. Unfortunately OMG has neglected that aspect in their UML definition. OMG has a web site where you can drop in comments. However, that seems as useless as ...  :-X
