print level numbering
« on: December 13, 2013, 01:53:15 am »
v10.0.1006

Newbie,
How do you print level numbering...hopefully in diagrams but at least in element reports?
It appears to only show in the project browser where it can be toggled on and off

Thanks in advance.

In the element section of a report there is a field called 'Level Number'.

I've looked at modifying a template but do not see "level number" in there.
Do I have to link the document to the package and edit the RTF template somehow there to see this element section?
Also -  Is there a way to make these numbers also show on activities in the BPMN2.0 diagram?  (or does this not comform to the spec for diagrams)

It is in the: Package | Element - section.
Set this section on in the Sections area - then right-click on it in the Contents area to get the Insert fields option.

Thanks.  I've got 'level numbering' reporting, but now the sort order in the rtf is incorrect.  (eg. 1.1.1, 1.1.3, 1.1.2  )

Also it appears activities, always precede events and gateways. (ie. You can not move a start event element up in the project browser above an activity)

(I did not think this was going to be so difficult...maybe I should not be using BPMN 2.0 business process diagram for what I am doing)

And still, I can not find a way to get them coming out as labels on the diagram either....
Is this because the BPMN does not let me add identification numbers to the diagram?

The ordering of elements in reports is configurable in the report options (First page 'Document Options', see group in top left).

That can be overridden for a single generate on the Options page of the Generate Document Options dialog.
