Not getting the 'Paste' dialog box
« on: February 25, 2014, 11:56:32 pm »
As per the http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/10/modeling_basics/pastingfromthetree.html, I should be getting a dialog box when I drag an element into a sequence diagram. However, what I see is that an instance gets created by default, without any dialog box, and I get only the 'Structural Elements' dialog box (even though the element in question does not have child elements). What I'd like is to be able to decide whether an instance gets created or not, which seems to be how the 'paste' dialog should work, but I'm not getting the option. Am I missing some configuration entry? Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Sparx Enterprise Architect 10.0.1006, Ultimate Edition

Its a bug from the v10 you are using.
There's a newer version that behaves a bit better (10.0.1009)
The workaround is to drag (or ctrl-drag) an element to a diagram of another type (so say a class diagram), select the appropriate option and set it to save the it as the default.
Next try again on a sequence diagram.
