Transfer model to Cloud Server
« on: August 09, 2014, 06:36:11 am »
Did some basic searching but didn't find anything. I'm just using the simple firebird db.
Yes see there is a Project Transfer feature but that only takes it into databases and the firebird database isn't an option.
The best think i can think of is to create a new model on the Cloud Server and then import my existing model in to this new model.
Thoughts? Solutions?

Hi,

I think you've described it correctly.

1. Create a EA repository on your favorite database on you clod server.
2. Make all the things to run the repository in the cloud
3. By Tools, Project Transfer you transform your database to your cloud service

In effect it's the same as creating an repository on an DBMS.

Yes that works for all the other databases but the new Firebird database is not in the supported list.
I already went the export/import route to get it done.

Firebird should be in the file (ie. eap selection)

Create the file and then copy it to your cloud server.

So why the possibility to use project transfer for EAP (a file) but not for Firebird?

Firebird won't appear in the DBMS selection, (unless you've created an ODBC connection to a firebird database) but it will appear in the File selection.

The Project Transfer doesn't support a cloud repository directly.
