Delete Project, Model Wizard
« on: August 25, 2014, 12:58:08 am »
I would like to build a SysML model.
I am using EA program version 11.1.1110 (Build 1110) – Unicode.
The database version is 4.01, version date Jan-31-2004
It is day 1 of 30 day trial period.
This is running on a Dell E6510 with Windows 7 Enterprise

I have started a couple projects but I would like to delete them.  I don't see a command to delete projects.  The user guide states that everything in the project is deleted but I did not see how to delete one.
1)      How do I delete a project?

I would like to use the model wizard.  The user guide says to select a wizard when opening a new project, but I never saw that question.  The user guide says that the wizard can be selected after project creation by right clicking on the project browser package node and then select from Add | Add a New Model.  The challenge is that the icon shown in the user guide for package node is entitled "New model from pattern" in the application.  It does not say anything about 'package'.  Right clicking on this icon lists 27 functions, but does not have an option for a new model.  The user guide also says that the wizard can be invoked by Ctrl+Shift+M.  This does pull up a wizard where I can select from 3 SysML versions.  I did find that left clicking on the new model icon does open the wizard.  Now I have concerns that the help doesn’t match the EA application.
2)      Is there an update to the help that brings it inline with the product?
3)      Is it typical for the help to lag the product and if so, by how much time?

I would like to review some examples.  There is one I found in the application for an audio system.
4)     Are there other examples somewhere?

Thanks in advance for any help.  I am looking forward to effective use of this tool.

You need to remove all views inside a root first. Context menu/Delete. Finally you can delete the root with Ctrl-Delete. But not the single last root :-)

querty,

Thank you.  Yes, EA would not let me remove the last root.

When I selected 'Open Project', there is a command to 'remove from list'.  With the project highlighted, I selected this and the project is no longer visible.
5)  Does this mean it is no longer taking up space?

No It's just removed from the list. Go to the Explorer and remove the EAP to get rid of it finally.
