Accessing Layout Palette from AI
« on: August 06, 2009, 04:59:52 pm »
Doesn't seem possible...  (as of build 847).

Is that the case?

project.LayoutDiagramEx (string DiagramGUID, long LayoutStyle, long Iterations, long LayerSpacing, long ColumnSpacing, boolean SaveToDiagram)
only  applies to the legacy layout function - Yes?

Any ETA on it?

I asked on an earlier build. No dice. Nothing I've seen indicates a change. Really too bad, as the new functions get past many of the old limitations of the API.

Sigh...
No, you can't have it!

So, while I'm waiting for Sparx (which on past experience may be a LONG time), I'll have a look at trying to trigger EA directly using that old stand-by: SendKeys.

I activate the Layout Palette and start to move around it using keystrokes, only to discover that only two? of the possible n controls on the palette are actually reachable using keystrokes...

Can we, at least, have EA forms/dialogs fully navigable by keystrokes?

Shafted again,
Paolo
