RTF generator and Hyperlink elements
« on: November 20, 2014, 01:40:50 am »
Is it possible to generate a RTF document so that the links are usable?

E.g. I add a Hyperlink element to a diagram. In EA I can double-click this element to jump to the linked target.  This works only in EA itself or in generated HTML reports.

But these links are inactive in the generated RTF or PDF documents.

Is there a way to activate these links in the generated documents?

Thanks
Friedbert

Yes there is, but NOT by using a hyperlink on the diagram since this will simply become part of the diagram image

Use the Diagram Notes property and create a link to your diagram as a hyperlink

Output the Notes along with the diagram image

Of course BOTH diagrams will need to be in the resultant document for the links to work

Certainly works with RTF, see no reason why it would not work with docx, have not tested with PDF

As well as Phil's suggestion - also check out the recent webinar (under Resources) on Document Generation - it includes an EAP file with a document template that uses hyperlinks...
