Stopping default diagram opening when open EA?
« on: March 19, 2015, 01:02:51 pm »
Just upgraded to 11.0. When I open EA, one particular diagram is open by default and also on the project browser. Long since stopped working on that diagram but it still happens every time.

How do I stop that please? Don't want anything to open when I open EA or if that isn't possible at least the last thing I worked on.

thanks, Kim

Some other user might have wanted to display the diagram by default and set it as the model default. Just create any other diagram and select the Diagram | Advanced | Set As User Default option. Now delete this dummy diagram.

If the Set As User Default option isn't available, select the Set As Model Default option instead. However, IF another user has set the original diagram as the model default, they won't get it displaying automatically now.

There are other mechanisms that might display the diagram automatically. If the above solution doesn't work, let us know.

Thanks Roy. That worked.

Another small thing, a model (not a root model) is automatically visible and selected when I enter EA. Btw, its not one I'm currently working on - I was though. Its only a small thing but I'd rather the project browser just showed a list of root nodes with nothing selected.

cheers, Kim

I'm not sure what we are talking about here. When you start up EA, it automatically opens a specific project AND a specific root node and then expands a model at a lower level? Is that what you are seeing? There is an option to automatically open a Project when you start EA, and there are various mechanisms for automatically setting up a work environment and opening views and diagrams, but I don't think there is anything for JUST automatically expanding a subordinate model or a Package.

Maybe you should have a look into Model Views.

Nnnnooo... Model Views would do all the selective displaying within various windows and views you might want to have opened. It wouldn't just expose a subsection of the Project Browser automatically when EA is opened. If that is what Kim is seeing.

Well, the intention of his question was no that clear. So it might be interesting anyway :-/
