Component Status Change Over Time
« on: March 31, 2015, 05:06:45 pm »
Hi

I understand that a component can have a status such as proposed, approved, implemented, decommissioned etc. How does one apply lifecycle status over a time line or project phases without universally changing its status in all views?

For example when depicting a current state I have a component which is implemented. In the target state I wish to show it as decommissioned whilst the current state view still provides an implemented status. I understand an instance can be created, however my observations are that the instance looses relationships to other components which the original had which is an inaccurate representation in this scenario.

Thanks

You can relate stereotyped elements (e.g. <<history>>) to the element and store the needed information in tagged values.

Historization is a very complex matter. You won't find the right answer by just asking how others did it. A workshop at least is needed to find a solution.
