How to use the Mind Map
« on: April 20, 2015, 04:16:50 am »
EA now features the Mind Map diagram for quite some while.
The diagrams which are crated in this type of diagram look like a simple mind map. OK. But is that all?

I mean, a mind map also needs such features like
- easy to create: just type in what comes to your mind and it is displayed as items
- some visual clues for importance and state of items: just simple icons

Is this possible? I mean, do I oversee some shortcuts to easily create elements and sub elements or attach icons?

Regards,
Ralf

If you want to use mind-mapping for real then use one of the many programs for that purpose out there (there are even quite a number of free programs available). EA's mind mapping is for a basic use but you are able to re-use elements in your model which you can't when using external mind maps.

Some features in EA are very basic, sort of v1.00, data flow diagrams, mind mapping, and org charts come to mind. Diagrams come to mind for similar reasons although they are more feature rich (search for the phrase "diagram enhancements" for more).

I've used the term "salesware" before. What has not happened is these features receiving any further investment.
(Of course I live in hope, I was pleased to see the database builder recently added).
