Import DB schema, Oracle 12C
« on: April 01, 2015, 12:40:45 am »
We have EA 9.2.921 version. We have switched from Oracle 11g to 12C recently. I cannot make EA work with the database.
My steps:
1) created new project and data model
2) import DB schema from ODBC link via a Project browser icon
3) clicked "..." button, clicked "New", Oracle in OracClient, chose corresponding TNS name, tested connection and clicked OK.
4) clicked "Import"
5) as a result I get 0 of 0 available objects to import, no matter what I type in schema/owner option.

I tried using Microsoft ODBC Oracle driver in step 3, no success either.

Please, advise. (If I am not mistaken, we have an enterprise level perpetual license, EA Corporate Edition)

Support for Oracle 12C database engineering was introduced in EA 11.0 Build 1107. You will need to upgrade to the current release.

Is there any resolution to this?  I can't get the import schema through ODBC to work either in v12.  I just updated to the latest (April) release but still doesn't work.  I'm connecting to a SQL server DB.

This issue was only related to that specific version of Oracle. If you have a problem reverse engineering an SQL Server database then that is totally unrelated. You better make a new topic and provide enough details so people can help you.
You can also contact Sparx support if the other users can't help you.
