SysML, UML model for Corporation
« on: May 14, 2015, 10:26:48 pm »
I am looking for a sample model depicting a company's infrastructure, including modeling network, servers, etc. using physical block diagrams and the like.

The company's infrastructure is deployed in multiple data centers stood up throughout the world.

In short, I am looking to document the Physical architecture.

Are there any EA examples, samples anyone can point me to? send to me?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look into EA's example model. You can open it via the Help menu.

In my BA book (link below) I'm also talking about describing hardware/sw deployment.

Thanks, I have looked at the example model before as I have been using Sparx EA for several years.

I guess I am looking for a model that has been put together for a company ... showing all their infrastructure.

I am particularly interested to see how they chose to "organize" the model from a physical architecture perspective, level of decomposition, etc. Did they "organize" it by country, data center, or simply bundled everything up and have "location" be an attribute of a particular physical component.

I know I want to use a Physical Block Diagram, but the above is key.

Thanks again.

It's some time ago I last looked into their example model but IIRC it was location based. Just look yourself.
