Show Notes appear to not be working

I'm using EA V11 and am trying to show the notes of an element. i think have the proper check box checked in the "Features and Compartment Visibility" dialog box but nothing happens on my element. Does anyone know if this works or how it works?

The problem is probably the type of element.

eg. States, Activities and Use Cases won't do it unless you switch them to rectangle notation. BPMN elements won't do it at all.

A work around might be to add a separate note, and use the link note to element feature

Notes do not appear for Archimate symbols either. This is a bit annoying. I want to show the definitions of some of my elements, but not working.

Archimate (like other MDGs) uses shape script. And that in  almost all cases simply ignores settings like that for compartments.

Sorry, I almost included ArchiMate in with BPMN. In the end I opted for brevity rather than completeness.
