Import XPDL2 into EA
« on: June 05, 2015, 04:50:55 pm »
Hi,

I'm looking for a tool to import XPDL2 files (generated from a workflow engine) into EA, as it currently only support XPDL2 export.

A company called BPM-X appears to have developped such tool, although I haven't found it from their website.

Has anyone tried BPM-X or another tool to successfully import XPDL2 into EA?

Thanks
Guillaume

Hi Guillaume (or anyone - including Sparxians)

Has there been any progress on this?  I have a similar requirement.  The Sparx site suggests another third-party Cephas Consulting has such a tool (in addition to BPM-X mentioned by Guillaume).

Has anyone got any experience with any XPDL import tool?

TIA,
Paolo

There are currently no plans to develop an XPDL import for EA.

I've already put in a feature request.  Everyone else should also put in feature requests.

That'd be more productive than griping about it.  8)

A bit of feedback from my end: I dropped this topic since the BPM-X solution involves numerous tailored data configuration to cater for a single workflow engine. The estimated cost of achieving this by BPM-X was way beyond the added value of coupling EA BPMN models.

Hi,

You could try this https://www.businessprocessincubator.com/cloudapps/#web-service-28 to convert from xpdl to bpmn, then try importing into EA ?

Regards,

Jon.
