Diagrams with Layers
« on: June 30, 2015, 04:51:50 pm »
Hi all,

I am pretty new to Enterprise Architect.

I am creating a BPMN diagram. Is there a way to create layers in the diagram so that I can hide / show certain layers if necessary?

regards,
rnv

You can't create layers, but you can reach (almost) the same effect using the diagram filters.

Thank you for the quick response.

I have Notes in the diagram. Is it possible to group them and hide / show them on demand?

It probably would be useful to look at the feature Geert suggested.

The scenario you describe is one where diagram filters works better than layers.

The simplest way to optionally hide notes is to create a single filter with ObjectType Not Equals Note. If you want to have other "layers" you may want to configure this differently.  Individual filters are additive. Once one enables an object it is visible regardless of other active filters.
