Turn off references and properties by default
« on: July 10, 2015, 11:16:31 pm »
Hello,

We are using EA 12 and SysML. When I add a block to a BDD, by default the references and properties are displayed as compartments. The problem with this is that if a new reference or property is added after the diagram is created, the box increases in size and mucks up the diagram. Of course I can turn them off every time I add a block using the Features & Properties, Feature & Compartment Visibility right click menu option but it is annoying to have to do this for every block.

Is there a way to turn off the references and properties compartments by default when adding a block to a BDD?

Thanks,
Richard

I received a response from Sparx support (thanks Simon!) as follows:

If you want to avoid these compartments for a specific diagram then you can achieve this by disabling the appropriate options in the "Diagram | Properties > Elements" dialog. Please note, the SysML specific compartment options are only available in this dialog if your diagram contains elements which would display those compartments.

If you want the reference and properties compartments to be disabled by default for all new Block Definition Diagrams, or Block elements, then you can achieve this by using a Template Package. Please see the "Set Element Templates Package" topic in EA's help for details.
