Changing elements colors
« on: November 01, 2015, 12:00:33 am »
Hello all,

Again I apologize for my bad english.

How can I change the color of the elements? I can select one or more elements in a diagram, click with the right bottom and select appearance -> default appearance, but I don't want to do it to each diagram. I can't discover how to do it in the tools -> options. Someone can help me?

Another question? How can I take off the "tab" in the images generated? I mean the tab containing the diagram type and its titlle.

Use the painter. The toolbar on top of the diagram frame has coloring/style elements you can apply to selected elements. It's also in the top right brush icon that appears when selecting single or multiple elements.

Check Tools/Options/Diagram/Diagram Frame (middle right)

OK, but it will serve only for one diagram, right? I want to configure for all diagrams once for all. How can I do it?

You can save a painter set where you read Default Style by using a different name and Save it. Then you can apply that with the painter. It's a bit tricky to use (like some features in EA).

Thank you for the help, but I remenber that in previous versions I could configure the colors in the Tools -> Options but now I can not... It is not possible to configure the colors there anymore? I think I am making something wrong or I am not making something...

And there is some way to take off the tab of the diagram?

Colors can be customized somewhere in the options (good luck with searching them). The toolbar can be hidden by the dbl-arrow top right of the diagram (near then tiny X and the little triangle). We love EA for its UI, don't we?

You can change the color of all elements or elements of a type, using Tools | Options > Diagram > Standard Colors (for all elements) or Tools | Options > Diagram > Appearance: select Use Element Group Style (to apply a system-set color to all elements of each type, each element type having its own color.)

As for the frame, try Tools | Options > Diagram, and in the Diagram Frames panel click on one or more of the checkboxes to remove the tick, and hide the frame on the saved image, clipboard image and/or printed image (which is what qwerty was telling you.)

There are other options for changing element color/appearance, so if the Tools | Options dialog does not do what you want, post again and we will try those other things.
Best Regards, Roy
