RTF and inherited attributes on an object instance

If a package includes an element that that is an object instance with an inherited attribute or a tagged value with a public scope (from the classifier), I am unable to have those fields reported on RTF.  The produced report just shows blanks.    I have been banging my head against that one for a couple of days now and I can’t think of anything else to try.  There must be a way to do this and its probably just a checkbox somewhere.  Please help!
