Docking Animations
« on: April 01, 2004, 10:01:59 am »
This is a tiny thing, but something that's costing me a bit of time.

EA runs great, and the speed, even on this Dell is pretty good. The one place where I see a pronounced slowdown is in the animated opening and closing of docked windows (i.e. the project window or the properties window, etc.)

When I have these collapsed against a side of the screen, then activate it, it takes a good 5-10 seconds to expand. I know that this mostly has to do with my system, but it's still frustrating.

any chance of having a configuration option which turns off the animation? i.e. be able to configure it to just "pop" like windows menus, listboxes, etc.?

Thanks for reading!
Sean

I'm not having any real problems with speed on my machine. Win Xp on a 1.5G Compaq.

I'm using EA 4.0 Build 723

How much memory do you have? I haven't noticed that memory seems to be a problem with EA but
it might depending on what else you may have running.

To turn off the animation

Exactly perfect! I thought I had looked everywhere for that option. And I probably did. Everywhere except there :-)

THANKS!
