FRQ: populate diagram
« on: May 14, 2004, 07:39:06 am »
Hi,

I like to be able to do this:

Create new diagram
Drop one element A from a arbitrary folder
right click on the element
follow a new entry called "populate"
follow that entry into "links-from", "links-to" or "elements"

e.g. choose from "links-to" "realisation" and all elements which are linked *from* A via a "realization" link should pop up on the diagram.

e.g. choose from "elements" and all linked element types show up in a pop up menue and you an e.g. select "use case" and all use cases linked to A are popping up.

This is a very powerfull feature, hope you can add it in some future.

Regards,

Hi,

this already exists in EA - right click the element as select "Insert Related Elements". Using the options in the next window, you can achieve all of what you have described.
And I agree, this is a powerful feature! :-)

Most of teh time I use a 3.6 version of EA at work ... at home I have the 4.0, will check that later :D

I loved EA 3.60 but I REALLY love 4.0 :-) Many little things that I would have wished for appeared in EA 4.0, I am still uncovering them... many nice surprises!
