Entering Auto Counter
« on: April 23, 2004, 01:42:18 pm »
Any way we can get the auto element counter area to use a spreadsheet metaphor and not a drop down dialog?  I'd like to see all the possible items that can be auto countered along the left side, and then the options along the top.  That way entering what we need will be easier.
Type Prefix      Counter    Suffix    Active
A..Z       FR        00001                     X

Not the same, but related to autocounters: the way autocounters appear is quite different in EA. In Tasks/Issues I have to press a button and THEN click near the end of the new counter  :P. In Requirements the counter is already there when I open the dialolg, BUT the whole counter is selected and I have to click near the end to enter my text :P. I would really appreciate to have the cursor near the end of the autocounter whenever EA is told to create one. That would be nice  :).

Hi,
I just stumbled across this - again.  With the last project I had to enter a lot of Issues. Each time I had to click Auto, click near the end of the generated counter and enter the issue title. That's annoying  >:(

Couldn't you simply make it like: "new" finds out that the autocounter is enabled, places a new counter in the title and the cursor is just near the end ready for typing? And this for all involved autocounter'ed dialogs?
