copy system test case to acceptance test case
« on: December 11, 2003, 04:22:33 pm »
It would be great to be able to copy test cases from one type of test to another; such as from system test to accetance test.

Often some of the test cases are repeated with just different input and by a different set of people.

There needs to be a copy and paste function for test cases.

Re: Copy/Move Test Cases between Tabs, Elements

Since almost a year has gone by, as we all eagerly await EA 4.5/build 740 8), can I just reiterate this request.

Click on Test Case, drag-copy/move between tabs in the Tests windows, also, drag-copy/move to another element on the same diagram.
Hey, since the Test window doesn't change until I click on the diagram, you could even drag to an element on another diagram !

The alternative is tedious retyping of the test details, since the Test import command only works from Scenarios, Requirements and Constraints; [738]Import Tests from Other Element is good !

It would be nice in time for Christmas - but I'm sure that the Sparx beach party will then be in full flow ;-)

I support this request  and also request that you can move tests between the tabs .

Hey guys,

It is possible to copy tests from one element to another, just not in any way that you're looking for I guess.  To do it try the following steps.
  • Optional: Create a link between the element that has the tests you want and the one that you want to add them to.
  • Open the Testing window.
  • Select the element you want to import tests to.
  • Right click in the testing window and select "Import Tests from Other Element".
  • Select from the list the element with the tests that you want.
  • Select all the tests that you want and click "OK".
  • Optional: Delete the link between the two elements that was added in step 1.
I don't know any way to move tests between tabs though.
