Diagram SVG export
« on: December 06, 2004, 02:43:40 pm »
I have clients that want to standardize on SVG as the format for publishing large numbers of model diagrams to their employees via web browsers.

There is an open source Java solution called Batik that I believe Poseidon (by Gentleware) has used to provide good SVG export. However, Poseidon lacks other basic diagramming and modeling features that makes it inefficient for my work.  EA is a great tool for building a large number of diagrams, and has good HTML export capabilities, but the lack of SVG support is a problem in my case.

Of course I can export to WMF and use something like Adobe Illustrator to prep and export diagrams as SVG, but the multiple tool approach is not practical for large numbers (dozens and hundreds) of diagrams.

If Sparx Systems could include a solid SVG export option in EA, it would be the only tool I would need.
