FireBird DB Support?
« on: December 14, 2004, 08:41:16 pm »
Hi,

I would like to know if EA will support the FireBird DB in the future?

Since it currently supports InterBase, it should theoretically be capable of going one step further and supporting FireBird, since Interbase was its "Parent"

Thank you

daniel

Why, doesn't "Interbase" work for Firebird ?
I haven't checked, but I thought it would.

Well I have tried, but I am not able to make it work. However, I am very new to EA, so it is very possible that I am not going about it the right way.

If you or anyonw else can tell me how, I would be very happy, as I like the look and feel of EA, and I do not feel like reviewing another product.

Thanks

daniel

If by support you mean Data Modelling support, then yes, we will support it in the future.

If you mean InterBase/FireBird as a repository, this is unlikely until the limitation on the size of composite indexes/keys is resolved.
