Serious problem with search capability
« on: April 26, 2005, 10:59:47 am »
 ???

When I do a search and see a list of topics, I may need to investigate further by actually selecting one of those topics.  However, once I do this I cannot go back to the list of topics that the search engine found.  Hitting back on the Internet browser back button will cause an error message.  So basically, if one search topic doesn't pan out I have to completely redo the search in order to get the list of topics to choose from again.  This is really annoying makes it nearly impossible to really search through all of the potential threads that are found be the search engine.  Could someone please fix the website?  I've done searches on other types of online forums and have never had this problem.

Perhaps I am missing something or there is a button built into the forum that allows me to do this but if there is, I sure can't find it.

Thanks in advance!

Well I am using IE.  But it doesn't open a new window.  That is the problem.. I guess.  Come to think of it; that is what other forums tend to do.  They open a new window when you click on a thread you want to view.  Then you have all the original search hits in the original window.  I wonder why this forum isn't doing that.  I guess I will have to use CTRL-N and new a window before I click on the topic.

I guess that's not so bad but would be nice if it would just bring up a new window when I click on the link if that is what has to be done.

With Internet Explorer you need to Shift+Click to open a link in a new window. But I agree with Thomas: Mozilla Firefox...
