Undo - please!
« on: June 01, 2005, 03:30:35 pm »
I am only getting familiar with EA, and I just spent an hour on my sequence diagram.  When I was done I realized I had two Handset objects in my Project View on the right.
Well, I don't need two, I just want one but which one should I delete?  Ok, let's try the usual thing, save the project as it is, delete one .... oops that was the wrong one, ok, let's undo - nope that does not bring the deleted object back.
But hey, we can always close EA without saving and go back to the saved version of the project right?
Wrong - closing EA without saving and reopening the project does not bring the deleted object either...

How are you supposed to protect yourself against deletions with unexpected consequences ?

Thanks,
Pawel

Since like most other modelling tools using repositories, any changes are immediately reflected in the database, so there isn't much one can do I am afraid.

You could always make a backup before each editing sessions just in case.

Instead of backup you should use the versioning support.
