Link to Package Note
« on: June 15, 2005, 12:58:34 pm »
I suggest a new "Link to Package Note" feature, similar to the existing "Link to Diagram Note" feature.

The purpose of this feature would be to display (on a diagram) the Note which describes a package. This would be especially useful in the first diagram of each package (i.e. the diagram which introduces the package): to display the package's Note on the diagram without adding the entire package to the diagram.

Hi Christopher,

This is a bit of a problem conceptually.  As the diagram's enclosing package may change over time (I'm always moving mine around).  If you use the linked note feature you can place a package on the diagram (suppress the content - so It's size doesn't change as the contents change) superimpose the linked note so there's only a small border showing.

This way, you've identified the package you're exposing, you can move the package and note as coherent whole (group) by dragging the package.

YMMV, this works for me...  I even change the package fill and border to indicate some attributes of the package.

HTH,

Paolo
