Just to add some additional information to Darren's point...
The hyperlink address is
static. That is, in the properties box the Hyperlink address control is
NOT actually linked to the diagram that the hyperlink attaches to. Thus, if you change the name of the linked diagram, the address doesn't change.
The hyperlink element is
both a link and an element. This can be shown by copying and pasting into multiple diagrams. If you change the note in one diagram, it changes in the other one(s).
Accordingly, the name of the addressed diagram should be displayed separately from the notes field (which should be like the notes field of any other element). In this way, it could be updated as the source diagram name changes. The notes control would therefore, by default, be empty consistent with other elements.
BUG: The Alias field doesn't work if you select
[X] Use Alias if Available in the diagram properties dialog.
By exposing the Name property one could add the following radio buttons: (and this could be made consistent across all the diagram linkage mechanisms):
( ) Override linked name with supplied - if blank (default) then name is suppressed
(X) Use linked name - (default) control is disabled and populated from the source diagram.
Consideration should be given to making the hyperlinks be visible on the browser (like Diagram Frames and References)
With these changes, Diagram Hyperlinks would be even more useful...
