I (and others) have mentioned the UI design issues with EA.
One thing that is really starting to bite (me) is the
overloading of double-click for both opening the item specification and for navigating in the case of the (misnamed) composite item.
Initially, I didn't have many Element-linked-diagrams, so I didn't appreciate the scope (to me) of the problem.
Element-linked-diagrams (in my opinion) are a
terrific idea and (therefore) I'm using them (pretty-much) everywhere.

The use of Double-Click for automatically navigating to the linked Diagram is
also a terrific idea!

The problem occurs in the fact that when I Double-Click on a non-linked Element, I get the properties (so my brain - like Homer Simpson's - matches -
Ummm... Double-Click <-> Properties). In fact, depending on where in the UI I Double-Click, even for a linked Element, I will always get Element properties.
However, on the Diagram if I Double-Click a linked Element, I navigate to the Diagram. My brain (and Homer's, if he used, EA

) goes:
DOH!...My suggestion is, given that we are expressly talking about mouse movements, that
Double-Clicking on a linked Element, anywhere other than the "link" icon (o-o) will bring up the properties and Double-Clicking on the "link" icon will navigate.
Thoughts?
