Visible Relations... Apply filter
« on: September 25, 2009, 12:09:04 pm »
The Diagram|Visible Relations... dialog is necessary to manage conditional visibility of relations on a diagram.

Now, it IS resizable (and stockily so) so for small diagrams (with not many shapes or lines) it's OK as it is.

However, we're increasingly creating large models with a LOT of metadata in relationships.  So the ability to filter the list to quickly find the relation we're interested in managing would be MOST useful.

Obviously, filtering by relationship type would be one filter criterion.  Another would be by origin/destination vertex type.  This could be extended so that if one or more objects were selected on the diagram, the list presented would be automatically filtered by that set (as both origin and destination).
I guess, if I'm envisioning...  I'd like relationship and vertex stereotypes to be available as filters also.

Before I submit a formal feature request...
Thoughts?  Votes?

TIA,
Paolo

Adding the option to sort (with or without a filter) could make this more useful still.

But yes I agree, regardless.
No, you can't have it!
