Enterprise-wide Model Searches
« on: January 30, 2010, 01:37:02 am »
EA stores repository searches (Model Search Window [Ctrl+Alt+A]) locally to each user (in their local path).  However, many organizations need the ability to create and manage Enterprise-wide searches.  Before I submit a feature request, can anyone suggest any existing mechanism, other than each user manually importing the searches from a central location, on request?

TIA,
Paolo

You can add searches to MDG technologies.

Thanks Simon!

As I read the Help (now I know what I'm looking for), it's a manual tweak of the MTS fil yes?

Correct, as far as I know it is the only thing that is still required for.

You can also perform automation interface based searches via scripts. See the provided scripts for some examples:

* VBScript - Model Search (Attributes) Example
* VBScript - Model Search (Operations) Example
* JScript- Model Search (Attributes) Example
* JScript- Model Search (Operations) Example

EDIT: Script templates may make an appearance in the next build of EA  :-X
