Bug Submission feature requests
« on: January 06, 2005, 05:38:42 am »
Hello,

Recently, I have been using your registered users bug request feature and have a few suggestions.

1. When automatically notifying a user via email that you have received their bug, please include a copy of the bug report in the email.

2. Create some sort of tracking number system that appends a tracking number to the email. This would help because I wanted to write that certain bugs were resolved but didn't know how to specify which bug I had resolved.

Thanks and I hope that this helps.

...bug request feature...

For a bug free system you really need to request some bugs  ;D

I wonder why I have been joking here ???

I would like to add my vote. It would also be nice to see the current bug/wish list with a number, short description, a possible workaround and a state (registered, investigating, fixing/ETA, fixed). Having such a public bug list would also help users to identfy their own problems and help Sparx to fix problems by supplying debug material.

Anyone to join here?

I'll add my vote. Being able to look for a report or request before asking for help would untangle a lot of our discussions elsewhere.

It would also help to find out what was in the pipe. If we could also add our support to pending requests it would probably help Sparx to prioritize.
No, you can't have it!

I can only second that. Providing a bug tracking system with tracking id and the ability to identify in what release the problem is solved should be state-of-the-art.

for the current state, we could use this forum for a bug/request description. Then report to sparx links for a descriptions (I try to follow this scheme)

Subject also could be prepended with the FIX or REQUEST, for example:
FIX: OCL bugs
REQUEST: better note position

Of course, public accessible bug tracking system would be the best choice
registertm everything to SparX

There's a fairly cheap bug tracking system call Gemini from a company called CounterSoft.

It implements a Web services interface as well and should be easily integratable into EA

Completely d'accord!

Just created a Feature Request (Public Bug/Feature Tracking)!

You must be very patient. After 5 years nothing has happened. This is steel armored concrete. You need to wait at least one million years.

P.S. it looks like you can also vote for ex-members. They will probably be virtually un-/happy.
