EA Start as it was left
« on: June 29, 2011, 04:12:15 pm »
Hi,

it would be great, if EA would memorize its status
(open windows ect.) when closed, so that I can start next day where I stoped the day before.

Regards
Rainer

I haven't played with it much, but I think the Working Sets tab in the new Personal Information window in EA 9 allows you to configure this...

- View | Personal Information
- Select "Working Sets" tab
- Right-click in the window and select "Store Main Tab View History"
- Close and reload your model
- Open the "Working Sets" tab again and you should now see an item like "Windows open when Model was last closed".  Right-click on this item and select "Apply when model opens".

Hope that helps.

Hello Aaron,

thanks for this hint. It does 95% of what I was looking for.
The 5% missing is, that I would like a model to be opend like I left it automatically ;-)

To add 1% more try using menu Diagram>make user default just before you close down EA. That way next time you open up EA it will open up the diagram you were last editing.
Hope that helps a little :)
Happy to help

Sunshine's suggestion will open a single diagram automatically when you re-open the project.

You can make a working set open automatically when you open the project, by right-clicking on the set name and selecting the Apply when model opens context menu option.

Very similar to the working set, you can also use a shortcut to open a work-in-progress automatically when you open the project. You set this up using the File | Save Project Shortcut menu option. This enables you to automatically open a number of diagrams, a Model Search, a Relationship Matrix profile and/or the Team Review. You open up the same set of diagrams and profiles each time you open the project, until you edit the shortcut.

These - and more - are all documented in the Help.
