New element property : composite diagram
« on: February 27, 2013, 01:47:42 am »
Hi,

In EA, when you make an activity composite, it creates an activity diagram underneath it ; once you double click on the composite activity it opens this new diagram.
This activity is associated via an internal ref (not GUID?) with this diagram since you are free to move this diagram elsewhere in the project browser.

A trick involves moving an existing activity diagram under a non-composite activity, and make this activity composite => it gets associated with the existing activity diagram that I can move around again.
To avoid using this trick, and to re-use the same activity diagram for several composite activities, would it be possible in EA to show in the advanced properties of an activity (or use case, etc.) a field to set/change/remove the associated composite diagram (from none to an existing one)?

thanks!
Guillaume

In V10 this is/should be possible - but it isn't. You can select the composite from the context of the element in the browser. But if you link two elements to the same diagram both turn to non-composite. This is definitely a bug. I donate it to you :-)
