Import tables from AS400

Good Morning,

When i use EA 7.3,  i can import tables from AS400,  but when i upgrade EA,  to 9.3 or 10,  i 'can't import tables from AS400. Can you help me?,  I was using the same ODBC that works with 7.3 version (iSeries Client Acces).  i don't know if the problem induced from ODBC or EA.

The message is "Database could not be opened".  "Error retrieving table list".

When this message not show,  the list of tables is empty.

there are some general ideas to find the issue:

1. Get the SQL statement which cause the problem
%APPDATA%Sparx System\EA\DBerr.txt

2. Has you updated to the current ODBC Driver?

3. Have you searched the forum for AS400

4. 32bit or 64bit OS

2. No,  actually I use 11.00.00.11 version.

I don'n know how to upgrade my ODBC Driver,  but i have found thahtthere  are recent versions,  so i need information about where can i find this versions.

Can you help me?

Re 1.: Type %APPDATA% in the explorer. Then navigate further to Sparx System\EA\DBerr.txt

I can't remember any recent post dealing with AS400. So the search might be futile.

About the drivers,  I was able to upgrade them,  but it is not working (import from database)

Send a bug report to Sparx (bottom right of this page).

As a work around you still can import via 7.3. Just rename the 7.3 programs folder to EA7.3 (or the like) and install the new version. You can the run 7.3 juts for the import.

Ok,  i send a bug to sparx.

About to rename the folder,  i can't do that,  because the activation key is in a shared service that is not be available to select on 7.3 version.

You should contact Sparx support to help you out. They are quite responsive in such cases.
