Communication Diagram
« on: September 13, 2014, 02:06:14 am »
Is there a way to use the communication diagram to calculate capacity requirements for a batter device.  For example, a battery operated device may have X current states - sleeping (@0.5uA), RX-listening (@0.5mA), RX-receiving (@5mA), RX-processing (@10mA), and TX-transmitting (@50mA). We want to use the dialog for a protocol to calculate the energy usage for specking a battery for the energized life of the device and document it within EA before prototyping.

Is there a way to do this already within the Communication Diagram?
Thanks much,
-Jim

This sort of calculation must be done via a script - and it should not be that difficult. I don't know if the SysML MDG is capable of doing such things out of the box.
