Suggestion about versioning process

Details:
My team is using the versioning model that you sugested with a third party version control provider (subversion ). I was trying hardly to find and schema that works in the real world with diagrams. I know you have you version control design but in the real world the scenary is that we need to have 2 diagrams environments, 1 for development that always is changing and 2 for production environments when always is needed to get the real representation of production applications. So the issues is that when on team finish their development we need to promote this diagrams from the development environment to the production environment and it is to hard, this get worst when there are a lot of develpment teams working in different projects changing the same EA project in the development environment.

Do you have any suggestion about how to solve this problem?
