Open Group Archimate Standard Exchange File Format
« on: November 10, 2015, 07:58:19 am »
Hi everyone.

Does anyone know if/when Sparx Systems will release a import / export feature for the Open Group Standard Archimate Exchange File Format?

In principle, yes. I don't have a timeframe.

It's Friday, I wonder if around AEST 16:00 the Sparxians will break out the Tooheys and start mashing the unhelpful link on anyone who has annoyed them during the week.

Holgate Mount Macedon Pale Ale?  I actually had a hard time in Victoria finding "local" beer.

Victoria Bitter, Carlton Draft, and in Ballarat (just down the road) there are a couple of small local breweries. Or there is the Ballarat Beerfest in early February, where brewers from all over bring their products for adjudication and appraisal. Lots of appraisal. And adjucidation. Did I mention acdudidationonon....on?

Victoria Bitter is perhaps the worst beer I've ever had.  I'm not sure if it's the cane sugar or something they're modifying the water with (pH or supercharging the yeast) but even one gives me a massive headache a couple of hours later.

Archi fully supports it.  As do many, many, many others.  Why not Sparx?

So by "many, many, many" you mean Archi, Corso, and BiZZdesign.  Many in this context would mean the majority of tools supported the format; which they don't.

We're talking about a specification that was released less than a year ago. (August last year)

I don't think it's unreasonable that we don't have support for it yet. But given the limited time it has been available adoption has been high among tools supporting ArchiMate, and there is clearly demand from our users.

We are working on it and will release something to you as soon as we have something we are confident will meet your needs.

It's been in the tool for a while.  There were some layout issues with the diagram transfer, which I've logged bug reports for, but have no idea if they've been fixed.
