Suppressing Standard Searches
« on: April 19, 2016, 09:49:12 am »
The Project Search facility [Ctrl+Alt+A] is a wonderful thing.  However (there's always a "But"  ;) ), if you are setting up an MDG and want to create searches therein, you want to encourage their use.

The MDG based searches are placed at the end of the list, so users have a lot of navigating to get to them.  We've solved the internal (MDG) problem of search title order by utilising the fact that it is alphabetical.  However, the placement problem remains.

Ideally, I would like to suppress ALL standard searches (globally or on an individual basis).  Failing that, I'd like the MDG based searches to be at the top of the list.

Thoughts?
I'll send in a feature request if there's support.

Inconsistently correct systems DON'T EXIST!
... Therefore, aim for consistency; in the expectation of achieving correctness....

There should be a way to customize the dropdown (programmatically!).
