Start next session with folders/packages open as when file/connection was closed

Working Sets; as described in the responses below meet this need.  Thanks for the suggestion.

EA should remember which folders/packages were expanded or collapsed when you closed EA and should also start with this folder state again for each user.

Have a look at Working Sets.

There are separate options for 'Track working set/views last opened' and 'Automatically apply a working set when the model is opened'. It seems that when combined it should do what you're after.

I use that all the time.
It's one of those little gems that most people don't seem to know about.
