Extending a metamodel in the Enterprise Architecture tool

Hello,

I'm a Master Student and I'm doing a thesis where I extend the Archimate 2.0 metamodel of the Motivation Diagram. I would like to know if is possible to do that in the Enterprise Architect. I didn't find any useful content that could help me.

You can extend a MDG by creating your own that re-uses and augments any element of any MDG. The process of doing that needs some practice, but once you get a grip on it, it's rather easy to handle. You best start with creating a simple own MDG and then try to extend elements from Archimate.

Hey qwerty, thanks for the replay, it was useful. I think I found what I want in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3B-r3DFAOE , because creating a new stereotype with a different image may be enough. But for what I see in the video I need to go to "Settings" in the EA, which is not visible in my computer, I took a print of what tabs are available:



My EA version is 12, someone knows why Settings is not visible?

What settings do you need? I guess you are looking for Extensions/MDG. (EA's menu structure changes quite a bit from version to version...)
