Add new stereotype in the toolbox
« on: June 06, 2016, 04:22:48 am »
Hello everyone,

I created some new stereotypes but I would like to add them and make them visible in a specific toolbox. As an example, I would like to add it to the Balanced Scorecard toolbox.

Is it possible? If yes, how?

Thanks for any help.

No you can't change existing toolboxes, but you can make your own toolboxes and replace the existing ones.

Can you suppress the standard ones?  Such as "Common" and "Artifacts"?

No I don't think so (or I don't know how to :P). They seem to be always present.

Hello guys,

Thanks for the responses. I found a blog with a good step-by-step explanation of how to create a profile with new stereotypes and how to put it at the toolbox. You can find it at http://tvandesijpe.blogspot.pt/2011/04/creating-mdg-part-3-creating-toolboxes.html

I didn't find yet how to change the icon image of the stereotypes in the toolbox as you can see in the following image.

Do you know how to do this?

Thanks

You have to:

- make a 16x16 bitmap of your icon where the color 192.192.192 (C0C0C0) will be considered transparant by EA
- link the icon to the icon attribute in the stereotype (use the profile helper)
- make sure to fill in the metatype attribute or the icon thing won't work.

Hey Geert.

Thanks for the response, but can you be a little bit more specific? I defined the _metatype and the icon attribute, then I got the data in the icon of one of the files in the MDGTechnologies folder which have the other elements defined. I did put that data in the initial value of the icon attribute, but it still don't work. The stereotype attributes are like this...

And the copied icon data is like this...

Thanks

Are you using the profile helper?
If I look a the result of the profile helper on my stereotypes I see that the icon attribute has a path my local drive, and the attributes don't have a type.
