Page Orientation in a template
« on: June 19, 2016, 05:46:22 pm »
This might be simple to answer probably....
I am new to SPARX EA12, searching for option to change page orientation within a simple template.
Example: Out of the 4 pages in a designed template, need one in portrait orientation and remaining three in landscape orientation.
How can that be generated in .docx format. I read doing it through Document Editor but couldn't get it done. Please advise

You need to add section breaks in your template in between the landscape/portrait parts.

And last time I looked the section breaks must be the first thing in the template that changes the paper size or orientation (not the last thing in the previous template)

How do you actually change the mode to landscape though after you insert the section?

From the Resources pane open a document template.
Select the open document template.

From the Ribbon user File choose File then Printer Setup.

This doesn't seem to work on 15.2, I have been trying for over 2 weeks now to get a simple Landscape view in a template fragment. Did the section, did the print settings. So frustrating for a simple commodity task.

Are you using the "Edit Section" (you can get to it by clicking on Edit in the ribbon)? Using the "Edit Section" produces the desired effect on Sparx 15.2 1559.

OMG - edit section worked!!!! I didn't even know it existed. Thank you!!!
Whenever there is a new version of Sparx, I have come to the conclusion you cannot assume you apply all your pervious knowledge, to the current version.
You have to read each and every article of new information, I'm guessing Enterprise Architects have lots of spare time to do this, I'm just dysfunctional :-)
