Associate Diagram to Element
« on: June 30, 2016, 07:00:41 pm »
Hello,
It looks possible to associate a diagram with an element (for instance link a BPMN Diagram to an Archimate Business Process Element). When double-clicking on the element, the diagram is open (instead of element's properties).

How can I perform this task?
Supplementary question : how can I change the associated diagram?

Thanks
Pascal

Hello Pascal,
what you are having here is a composite diagram and for a composite diagram EA opens the diagram rather than the properties dialog.
As far as I know there is no general switch to change that, but you can define that your element has no composite diagram by uncheck “Composit” under “New Child Diagram”.
Best regards,

You can set individual diagram via MDG (which means you need to construct your own). To change the composite diagram else you need to go through the context menu of an element New Child Diagrm/*Composite* where you also can turn it off (hence the "Add" in the menu name as per EA logic).

Hi, i want do this on my diagrams, click on a Archimate Business Process elements and show a BPMN2.0 Diagram. Its easy with the interface, but I can't do this programmatically.

My target is generate a BPMN diagram into an Archimate Business Process element directly through my addin.

You should start a new question with that.

Ok, sorry for that, I post on this topic because I think my question is very similar to the owner's question.

Anyway, I have put the issue here http://sparxsystems.com/forums/smf/index.php/topic,35949.0.html
