how to import from XPDL or BPM to EA
« on: August 31, 2010, 01:52:07 am »
We have a model from other provider made on Websphere Modeler 7 (WM 7) and we need to import it to EA.

In order to do it the WM 7 only allow a few propietary export formats, the more one is XPDL.

We need to import from XPDL (valid document) the definitions of business process in order to represent them in EA.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

There's no XPDL import in EA, only an export.

If you have BPMN 2.0 XML, that can be imported.

Hi,

There are XPDL to BPMN translation tools, you can then import the BPMN. See

https://www.businessprocessincubator.com/cloudapps/#web-service-28 (tip, select 'translate')

Or you can pay someone for a full translation service, see:

So I got a .bpmn file (via the BPI) but it looks as if I'm NO closer to importing a .xpdl export from ProMapp.  Has anyone done it?

Paolo

[Edit: IGNORE this post (except as how to NOT fall into the "trap for young players")!  I'd accidentally disabled the BPMN 2.0 MDGs and so, naturally, didn't have the BPMN 2.0 import menu item in the Publish | Technologies | Import menu".  THe .bpmn file imported without issue.  I'll put it down to a "slip of the mind!]
