Model Search / Model View: results in View
« on: September 16, 2010, 12:27:35 am »
Hi,

I've created a custom Add-In search method, which I call from a Model Search. I want to add this to a Search View under My Views and have the results of the search listed under the corresponding node.

Everything works except the listing of the results in the View; it instead says "Search Found No Items."
When I open the search up in the Model Search window, it returns the correct results. I've done the CLASSTYPE/CLASSGUID magic, so I can open up the results when they are presented in the Model Search result window - but the Model View insists that there are no results.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers,

Uffe,

Do you have this problem with other searched (type sql for example), or only with the addin search?
Do you have other addin searches that do work in views?

Hi Geert,

The built-in searches, eg "Simple", work just fine: they return a visible list of elements in my Model View, and in the main Model Search window I can double-click on a result and get the element's properties.
This latter part works in my own Add-In search as well, it's just my Model View that claims the search returned no results.

I haven't tried other Add-In searches, this is the first such I've constructed.

So it might be a general issue with addin-searches in views.

I would ask Sparx to investigate if I were you.

Hi again,

I heard back from Sparx and at present, results from Add-In searches cannot be displayed in a Model View. This issue is known, but there's no word on when it will be fixed.
Issue tracking number is 10076420, in case anyone else feels strongly about this and wants to give Sparx a little nudge.

Cheers,
